The WitchBlade aka The Athame.
There are many traditions concerning the Athame and these can differ from witch to witch, coven to coven, depending on which magical path one follows.
That being said. Witchblade is a generic term that has been used thru out the middle ages. Tho Witchblade is usually linked to comics and or the TV show the witchblade itself has a long long history.
John Carpenter to Direct Darkchylde.
Today, it was revealed (on Halloween of all days), John Carpenter is on board to direct Darkchylde. The film is based on the comic by Randy Queen about an amiable southern teen cursed to become the creatures from her many recurring nightmares. Every time Ariel Chylde transforms, she sheds her skin and a new nightmare emerges from her Id to act out her deepest, darkest impulsesJohn Carpenter and Sandy King’s Storm King Productions have allied with Randy and Sarah Queen’s Darkchylde Entertainment to produce the film, following the release of that aforementioned test footage created by Richard Taylor’s Academy Award Winning Weta Workshop.”

One of the recent rumours was that Megan Fox had signed to play Sara Pezzini but nothing official has been released with regards to the cast yet. Although Megan fox has signed up to the Fathom movie which is another comic line featuring work Michael Turner.
